Trainings at ITC under the auspices of the UNHCR Office in Belarus

Trainings on "Migration of population: migration flows management, protection of refugees" were held at the International Training Center. 

On March 19-23 and April 9-13, 2018, the International Training Center on migration and combating trafficking in human beings of the educational institution "The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus" hosted two trainings on "Migration of population: migration flows management, protection of refugees" for employees of the units for citizenship and migration of internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Belarus with financial and expert support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Office in the Republic of Belarus.

The training process was provided by the course developer - the senior lecturer of the Department of administrative activities of internal affairs bodies of the faculty militia Alexander Fedorako, the practical component - by competent officers of the Department for citizenship and migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. Expert support during the trainings was provided by Zoya Golovnieva, Legal Assistant of the UNHCR Office in the Republic of Belarus, and Alexander Petrovsky, a liaison officer on immigration issues of the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Belarus.

The trainees were provided with the most up-to-date information on the topic. They analyzed the current legal and regulatory framework, as well as recent amendments to the legislation regarding the stay of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the territory of the Republic of Belarus. In the development of the theoretical component of the trainings, the trainees were acquainted with the applied aspects of law enforcement practice in the field of study by the representatives of the Department for citizenship and migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

At the end of trainings, the head of the Department for citizenship and migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, colonel of militia Aleksey Begun met with trainees to discuss the current state and prospects for improving the work of the units for citizenship and migration. After the successful completion of the trainings, the trainees received certificates of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, certificates of the UNHCR Office in the Republic of Belarus and the Department for citizenship and migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
