Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking: the Experience of the French Police

Belarusian law enforcement officers got acquainted with the advanced French methods of investigating and combating illegal drug trafficking.

On October 17-19, the commander of the International Training Center for Training, Retraining and Retraining of Personnel in the Sphere of Migration and Counteracting Trafficking in Human Beings was addressed by the commander of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, heads of the Departments of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, representatives of the State Border Committee and the State Customs Committee security group of the Department of Nantes Police of the French Republic, major police Rodolphe Lebopen.

Within the framework of the event, the foreign guest told about the structure and activities of the French national police, the central public security service and other services involved in combating illicit drug trafficking, separately focusing on the legal framework for investigating crimes in this sphere. The participants of the event got acquainted with specific cases that were under consideration at the Nantes anti-drug trafficking brigade.

The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - the head of the second department of the First Directorate of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, Colonel of Police Sergey Melechik noted the high degree of implementation of the goals and objectives of the meeting, which help prevent and counter illegal drug trafficking, and minimize the consequences of this type of crime.
